What is a short code in Learning (LXP)?

A Short Code is a unique identifier for a course or learning path. Unlike the name, which authors can change or duplicate, the short code remains fixed and helps identify the specific course or learning path.

Why is a short code important?

  • Identifies a unique record: Each course or learning path must have a unique short code, even if two records have the same name.
  • Keeps records linked: When you re-import or update a course or learning path, Engagedly uses the short code to identify the existing record and keep its enrollments, history, and progress linked.
  • References courses and learning paths: When importing learners, use the course or learning path's short code to specify which course or learning path to assign them to.

Where do I enter the short code?

Enter the short code in the Short Code column when using the Import Courses or Import Learning Path template.
