Automate goal assignment

Admins use automation to trigger workflows within the organization. These workflows run automatically based on defined conditions. Learn more in Configure automation workflows.

Automating goal assignments helps admins streamline training, save time, ensure consistency, reduce manual effort, enhance productivity, and align the organization with strategic objectives.

Admins can add workflows to automatically assign goals to employees.

Admins can assign the “Manage workflows” permission to any employee, allowing them to manage all workflows and view all goals during assignment.

Navigate to Apps > Automation.

  1. Click Add Workflow at the top right and enter a title.
  2. Select a trigger point:
    • Time Based: Set the period and frequency. You can select daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual frequency.
    • User actions: Select Added, Updated, or both.

📒Note: If you select “Updated”, ensure that you update user profiles so the workflow runs based on the configured conditions.

     3.  In the “Conditions” field, set the condition and select the required operator.

Click + Add Condition to include multiple conditions from default or custom employee fields, such as job title, reporting manager, date of hire, department, or business unit.

You can select multiple conditions, including default and custom employee fields, such as job title, reporting manager, date of hire, departments, and business units as required.

⚠️Warning: If employee fields used in workflow conditions are deleted or archived, the system shows an error when you manually run the workflow or update user profiles. Review the employee field configuration to resolve this issue.

     4.  Use the toggle to choose how conditions apply.
    •  All: The trigger should satisfy all the specified conditions.
    •  Any: The trigger should satisfy any of those conditions.

     5.  Open the “Actions” drop-down and select Assign Goals.

     6.  Add new goals or assign available goals from the template. Learn more in 0Create a goal.

📒Note: You can add only individual goals, not top-level goals.

     7.  Click Save at the bottom right.

     8.  (Optional) In the “Schedule” field, use the toggle to switch between Yes and No to assign goals after a specified period from the trigger point, and set the duration.

Click + Add Action to include more actions.

     9.  Click Save at the top right.

Goals are automatically assigned to employees when the configured trigger, conditions, and actions are met.

After adding workflows, view them on the “Workflows” page. You can edit, pause, run, or delete workflows at any time. Learn more in Configure automation workflows.
