Create a 360 feedback cycle

A 360 feedback cycle gathers development and behavioral feedback about an employee from multiple respondents, such as managers, peers, direct reports, and external respondents. Use this article to set up the basic cycle details. The “Cycle Information” page captures the basic cycle details and marks the first step of the setup.

About the cycle creation process

Creating a 360 feedback cycle is a multi-step process that is covered across a series of articles. This article is the first in the series and covers entering the cycle name, dates, and feedback period. Continue with the remaining articles in the series to complete the cycle setup. Links to the next articles are available at the end of each article.

To launch a complete and ready-to-use cycle, configure the following settings:

  • Enter cycle information: Enter the cycle name, start and end dates, and the review period.
  • Define rating scales: Choose a numeric or verbal scale that respondents use to rate each question.
  • Configure 360 feedback nominations: Set who can nominate respondents, the nomination window, notifications, instructions, and decline behavior.
  • Set default rater groups: Select the rater groups (Self, Manager, Peers, Direct Reports) that the system nominates by default. Add one or more custom relationships to allow respondents outside the default rater groups.
  • Define reviewer relationships: Set up the relationships, such as Peers or Direct Reports, that respondents use when they give feedback.
  • Define template configuration: Choose whether to assign a single template to all employees or different templates amongst employees, and configure who can assign templates.
  • Configure anonymity and visibility thresholds: Hide respondent names from selected audiences and set the minimum responses required for a rater group to appear in the report.
  • Configure report sharing: Configure automatic or manual report sharing for employees, managers, or both.

Complete each of these steps in order to finish setting up the cycle.

Before you begin

Ensure you have HR or admin access to the 360 Feedback app.

Navigate to Apps > 360 Feedback > Cycles.

  1. Click Launch at the top right.
  2. Enter a cycle name.
  3. (Optional) Add a description to explain the purpose of the cycle.
  4. Select the cycle start and end dates. The cycle runs between these dates, and reviews lock one day after the end date.
  5. Select the cycle period. This is the time frame for the feedback, such as the last quarter or last year.
  6. Select the timezone for scheduled dates and automated notifications in the feedback cycle.
All scheduled dates and automated notifications follow the selected timezone.
  7. Click Next.

📒Note: Review forms automatically lock 24 hours after the cycle end date. To allow a participant to submit feedback after the forms are locked, admins must manually unlock that participant's review form.
