How do HR Manager roles and permissions work?
Admins can assign any employee as an HR Manager. By default, the role itself does not grant specific functionalities. HR Managers perform actions based on the permissions admins assign.
Example: If an HR Manager has the following permissions, they can view and manage performance and 360 feedback reviews only for employees assigned to them:
- Multirater: Manage multirater reviews for assigned employees
- Performance: Manage performance reviews
Types of HR Manager roles:
- HR Associate (HRBP): Admins can add any employee as an HR Manager in an employee's profile. When admins assign “Performance: Manage performance reviews” permission, HR Associates manage all stages of performance reviews for employees assigned to them.
- HR Manager (Default Role): This is a system-level role, and not related to the HR Manager field in the employee's profile. By default, HR Managers manage all stages of performance reviews across the organization for employees in the active review cycle. Admins can also assign additional roles if required.
