Identify your first use case in talent mobility

Talent mobility in Engagedly helps you discover internal talent, build succession pipelines, and move people into roles where they can have the greatest impact. But knowing where to start is often the hardest part.

Use this guide to find the use case that fits your situation, then follow the steps to get it live quickly.

Find your use case

  • If you want to protect critical roles before someone leaves the organization → Start with talent discovery, mark critical roles, and prepare succession planning

  • If you want to stop losing your best people to external opportunities → Start with career paths and aspirations

  • If you want to fill open roles faster without going straight to external hiring → Start with talent discovery to find the right talent inside the organization who fits the role 

  • If you want to put your high-potential employees on a real development path → Start with building a pipeline and track their progress through development stages

  • If your talent discovery searches keep returning few or no results → Start with profile enrichment

Choose where to start

If you are still unsure, use the “Overview” page (Apps > Talent Mobility > Overview) as your starting point. The section with the biggest gap, whether it's unprotected critical roles, empty pipelines, or a talent pool with no development paths, is usually the right place to begin.

Keep your first use case narrow: focus on one department or role, set a 60–90 day milestone, and find a business leader who champions the outcome. A focused win builds the credibility to expand talent mobility across your entire organization.
