Is a grading scale required to display a verbal rating in the performance review?

 Yes. If you want to display verbal ratings, such as Unsatisfactory or Needs Improvement, based on numerical rating ranges, you must configure a grading scale.

If no grading scale is configured, the decimal portion of the rating is ignored. For example, a rating of 1.9 is treated as 1, and the verbal rating associated with 1 is displayed.

To account for decimal ratings, admins can define custom ranges, such as 1–1.5 = Unsatisfactory and 1.5–2.5 = Needs Improvement.
