Understand goals in Engagedly

Goals in Engagedly help individuals and teams focus on what matters most. Each goal can be tracked, measured, and aligned to broader organizational objectives, ensuring every employee's work connects to the bigger picture.

Who can create goals

Your role in Engagedly determines what kinds of goals you can create and who you can assign them to.

Role Permission
Employee Creates individual goals for themselves or assigns them to others.
Manager Creates goals for direct reports and any employee.
Admin Creates both individual and top-level goals for any employee.

📒Note: Admins configure goal creation permissions and assignment rules from the goal settings page.

Goal types

Engagedly supports the following goal types:

  • Individual goals (supported on mobile)
  • Top-level goals (creation is available on the web only)
Individual goals

Individual goals focus on personal responsibilities and day-to-day contributions. Employees, managers, and admins can all create individual goals. When you create a goal, you automatically become the goal owner.

📒Note: Creating top-level goals is not supported in the mobile app.

Ways to create a goal

Engagedly currently supports the following methods to create a goal on mobile:

  • Manually: Build a goal from scratch. The available goal creation and assignment options follow the settings configured by your admin on the web.

📒Note: "Marissa AI" and "Library" goal creation are planned for a future mobile release.
