Understand roles and permissions in Butterfly EI
Butterfly EI uses role-based permissions to control what users can do and what survey data they can access. This document explains the roles used by Butterfly EI and how they determine access within the Butterfly EI app.
Foundational roles in Butterfly EI
Butterfly EI uses three foundational roles to define permissions.
- Butterfly Admin: Has administrative permissions to create, edit, and delete surveys and manage users, teams, and roles. This role does not have access to survey results.
- Manager: Can view survey results for their teams and take action on feedback, such as replying to comments and creating follow-ups.
- Viewer: Can view survey results for their teams but cannot take action on feedback, such as replying to comments or creating follow-ups.
Engagedly combines these permissions with additional access levels to provide the roles used within the application.
