Mark a role as critical
Admins can mark a role as critical to highlight its importance for business continuity and succession planning.
Navigate to Apps > Talent Mobility > Strategic Talent & Roles.
- Go to the Critical Role tab.
- Click Mark at the top right.
- Select Mark Role.
- Select the roles you want to mark as critical.
- Click Mark Critical.
- (Optional) Enter remarks to explain why the role is critical.
- Click Mark Critical to confirm.
The system marks the selected roles as critical and prompts you to create a pipeline. You can create the pipeline now or later.
📒Note: The “Add to Pipeline” option is not available in the “Critical Role” tab because pipelines apply only to employees, not roles.
You can also mark talent as critical from the “Overview”, “Talent Discovery”, or “Talent Pool” pages. Use the available link or option to add employees to the critical list.
Add or update remarks
Remarks provide context for why a role is critical. You can add remarks initially and update them later as per the evolving business needs.
- Go to the Critical Role tab.
- Scroll the grid to the right until you view the “Remarks” column.
- Do one of the following:

- Click Add Remarks to enter new remarks.
- Click Remarks to update existing remarks.
Unmark critical role
You unmark a role when it no longer requires tracking as critical. This keeps the list current and relevant.
- Go to the Critical Role tab.
- Locate the role in the grid.
- Click the Green Flag icon on the right.
- Click Unmark Critical to confirm.
