Discover talent in your organization

Talent discovery helps HR admins quickly find employees across the organization.

Navigate to Apps > Talent Mobility > Talent Discovery.

Find talent using keywords

Use the search bar to find employees, entering keywords or natural-language queries. The search bar displays your recent and suggested searches before you start typing.

  1. Enter a keyword or natural-language query and click the Search Search-3 icon (for example, "Data analyst with Python skills").
  2. Review the list of employees that appear.
  3. (Optional) Click Reset to clear search criteria and start a new search.
  4. Click an employee card to open their growth profile.
  5. Select one or more employee cards to take action.

The system ranks employees by relevance based on your search and applied search criteria.

Refine your search with criteria

Apply search criteria and narrow the results to employees who best match your requirements. You can combine multiple search criteria to discover talent across any combination of criteria.

  1. Click the Sort Sort Icon icon in the search bar.
  2. Select a search category from the left panel. For more information, refer to the Search criteria categories section.
  3. Select the values you want to search by.
  4. Click Apply to view the search results.
  5. Click Cancel or Reset to clear the search criteria if required.

💡Tip: Apply one or more search criteria together to get more targeted results.

Search criteria categories

The following categories are available:

  • Job title: Search by job functions, families, and titles.
  • Skills: Search by skill category, skill subcategory, individual skill, or skill expertise level to find employees with the required skills and proficiency. The skills search criteria organizes skills by category (for example, Human Resources) and subcategory (for example, Employee Relations).
  • Competencies: Search criteria by competency or competency level to find employees with specific behavioral or functional strengths.
  • Performance rating: Search by the employee's latest performance review rating. Numeric ratings are normalized to a 0–100% scale. The available tiers are:
    • Exceptional performers (Top 10%)
    • High performers (Top 25%)
    • Strong performers (Middle 50%)
    • Emerging performers (Bottom 25%)
    • Low performers (Bottom 10%)
  • 9-box category: Search by the employee's 9-box placement in their latest performance review cycle. Select one or more quadrants based on performance and potential:

  • Departments: Search by department to scope results to a specific team or function.
  • Business units: Search by business unit (BU) to focus on a particular division or entity.
  • Locations: Search by work location to find employees in a specific office, city, or region.
  • User fields: Search by custom employee fields configured for your organization.

📒Notes:

  • The Skills and Competencies search criteria appear only if you have an active subscription to Engagedly's Growth app.
  • The Performance rating and 9-box category search criteria appear only if you have an active subscription to Engagedly's Performance app.
  • The 9-Box category search criteria appears only if the 9-box is enabled in the performance review cycle. When enabled, the search returns only employees whose most recently reviewed performance cycle has the 9-box enabled. Employees without 9-box data do not appear in the results.

Next steps

  • To add an employee to a talent pipeline directly from the results, click Add to Pipeline on their card.
  • To save an employee for later review, click Add to Pool.
