Manage candidates through pipeline stages

Admins can manage candidates movement and stage configuration on the pipeline board. Each stage represents a step in the succession journey. To learn more about the status, refer to Explain stages in a talent pipeline.

Move a candidate

Admins can move candidates forward or backward across stages at any time. Drag and drop a candidate’s card to quickly move them between stages.

Navigate to Apps > Talent Mobility > Talent Pipelines.

  1. Open the pipeline.

By default, Stages toggle is selected at the top right.

  1. Locate the candidate card in its current stage.
  2. Click and hold the candidate card.
  3. Drag it to the target stage column.
  4. Release to drop the card. The stage column updates immediately with the new candidate count.

💡Tip: You can move candidates forward or backward to any stage, not just the next one.

Update a candidate's readiness status

Each candidate card includes a readiness drop-down that reflects how ready the candidate is for the role. Updating readiness does not change the candidate's stage, but it tracks development progress.

  1. Find the candidate card on the pipeline board.
  2. Click the readiness drop-down at the bottom of the card (default shows “Not Ready”).
  3. Select one of the available options:
    • Not Ready
    • Ready in 6 Months
    • Ready in 9 Months
    • Ready Now

The card updates instantly. The progress bar at the top of the pipeline reflects the updated readiness distribution across all candidates.

📒Note: The statuses available based on the configuration.

Alternatively, you can switch the toggle to readiness to update status. Refer to Manage readiness status in a talent pipeline.
