Understand points and point systems
The point system in Engagedly assigns measurable value to employee actions. Points help organizations reward meaningful contributions consistently and transparently.
Points are numerical values awarded for completing activities, receiving badges, or demonstrating organizational values. Employees collect points over time and redeem them for rewards configured by your organization.
How points work in Engagedly
1. Earn points
Employees earn points through:
- Discretionary badges: awarded by managers or HR
- Activity badges: automatically triggered by gamification rules
- Gamified actions: such as learning completion, collaboration, or recognition
2. Accumulate points
Points accumulate in the employee’s rewards dashboard. Leaderboards display rankings to promote healthy competition and visibility.
3. Redeem points
Employees redeem points for available rewards, such as gift cards, merchandise, or custom items created by your organization.
A point system is important that:
- Makes recognition measurable
- Reinforces behaviors that align with values and goals
- Increases motivation and satisfaction
- Supports a consistent, structured reward program
- Encourages long-term engagement through visible progress
When to use points
Use points whenever you want to acknowledge contributions in a standardized way during recognition moments, performance initiatives, learning programs, and culture-building activities.
