Configure career framework

The career framework defines roles, responsibilities, and career progression within your organization. It helps employees understand growth opportunities and ensures alignment with business goals. Only admins can configure the career framework.

Enabling the framework allows you to:

  • Provide structure for job roles and career paths
  • Organize job titles into functions and families
  • Map skills and competencies to roles for clarity
  • Guide employees in planning career growth

Use the framework to:

  • Standardize job levels and responsibilities
  • Align career paths with organizational goals
  • Help employees visualize progression opportunities

Enable career path framework

Navigate to Apps > Growth > Settings.

  1. On the "TALENT MANAGEMENT" page, go to Career Framework.

  2. Use the toggle to enable Career Framework.

Configure career framework1

After enabling, you can:

Career framework hierarchy

The career framework includes multiple components; only the following follow a strict hierarchy:

Job Function → Job Family → Job Title

Other elements, such as career path category, career path, job level, and mapping to skills and competencies, are independent groupings or supporting structures. They do not form part of the core hierarchy but are used to organize growth opportunities and define expectations.

  • Career Path Category → Career Path: These are grouped separately to guide progression, built using job titles and levels.
  • Job Level + Job Title: These form the basis for career paths but are not hierarchical themselves.
  • Mapping: This is a standalone process that links job titles to skills, competencies, and responsibilities.

ℹ️Additional information:

  • Existing job titles are automatically saved as “Uncategorized”.
  • Move uncategorized job titles into relevant job families.
  • Reassign job titles across job families or job functions for better organization and alignment with career paths.
