Glossary in Groups

A list of specific terms and their definitions used in the Groups module.

  • Acknowledge comment: Users can acknowledge the comments. The commenter knows that their message is noted.
  • Ask for help: Requesting help to address a specific problem.
  • Attach: The purpose of sharing additional information, such as images or files, to a post.
  • Group admin: A group admin manages only a specific group.
  • Rule type: It refers to specific categories, such as job title or location, used to filter actions on employee data.
  • Rule action: It refers to the specific condition applied to a Rule Type, whether it should contain or does not contain a particular value. 
  • Rule value: It is a condition assigned to a Rule Type and Rule Action and represents the value used to filter the data.
For example, if the rule type is a job title, the rule action is to check if the job title contains or does not contain the value. The rule value can be a manager, HR, or developer, as it is the specific criteria for the filter.

  • Share idea: It is a creative and conceptual idea that can be developed into a plan, project, or solution.
  • Share knowledge: It provides others with information and insights, contributing to their understanding and learning.
  • Share status: It provides a brief update about one's current activities and thoughts in a communication context.
  • Tags: They are labels or keywords that are assigned to the posts.
