4.1. Edit and unlink goals from Google Sheets - Sync goals with Google Sheets
1. Introduction
Integrating Google Sheets with Engagedly allows for seamless goal integration between the two platforms. This streamlines workflows, reduces manual data entry, and aligns goal tracking and project management activities with organizational goals.
Admins must contact our support team to enable Google Sheets in Engagedly for their organization. This allows all employees to connect their individual Google accounts with their Engagedly accounts.
2. Integrate Google Sheets with Engagedly
After enabling Google Sheets with our support team, admins must configure the settings to integrate Google Sheets with Engagedly, allowing employees to connect their Google and Engagedly accounts.
Note: Only admins can configure the settings.
Prerequisites
- Google Sheets must be enabled for your organization.
Navigate to Settings > Integrations.
- In the Goals field, click Google Sheets.
2. Toggle the button to enable Salesforce and click SAVE.
Google Sheets is now available for all employees in your organization.
You can follow the same procedure to disable it if required.
3. Connect Google Sheets with Engagedly
All employees can connect their Google accounts with Engagedly accounts.
Prerequisites
- Access to Engagedly and Google Sheets applications.
- Google Sheets must be enabled on your Engagedly account.
Navigate to your Engagedly account.
- Click your profile picture at the top right and select Manage Profile.
- Navigate to the INTEGRATIONS tab.
- Click CONNECT for the Google Sheets application.
4. Click Sign in with Google, enter your Google credentials, or select your account if you saved it in the system.
5. Click Allow to grant access to it.
Your Google Sheets are successfully integrated with your Engagedly account.
You can disconnect the connection anytime if required.
Follow steps 1 and 2, and click DISCONNECT for the Google Sheets application.
After integrating Google Sheets with Engagedly, you can link goals to it.
4. Link goals with Google Sheets
Linking goals in Engagedly with Google Sheets allows employees to automate progress tracking, ensuring that any updates made in Google Sheets are automatically reflected in the goal's progress in Engagedly. This streamlines workflow, saving time, and ensuring accurate goal tracking by reducing manual updates and the risk of errors.
Note: All employees can link their goals in Engagedly with their Google accounts.
After linking goals with Google Sheets, you can edit them and unlink them if required. You can also manually sync goals anytime.
Prerequisites
- Google Sheets must be enabled for your account.
Navigate to Goals > My Goals > Owned by Me.
- Click Add Goal at the top right.
- Type the goal title and set the start and end dates.
- In the Measurement Type field, click the drop-down and select Quantity as the measurement type.
Note: You must select the measurement type Quantity to view the Google Sheets option in the Integration field.
4. In the Integration field, click Google Sheets.
5. Click Choose spreadsheet and click Sign in with Google.
6. Enter your Google credentials or select the account if you have saved it and click Allow to grant access to it.
You can view a list of spreadsheets.
7. Select the spreadsheet you want to link with a goal and click Select.
8. In the Select Sheet drop-down, select the particular sheet.
9. In the Enter Cellfield, enter the cell number and click Verify.
You can click Change if you want to change the selected spreadsheet.
Note: You can add only one cell value from the spreadsheet to the goal.
Note: You must enter the cell that has a numeric value. Entering an incorrect cell number results in an error.
After verification, you can view the cell value in the selected spreadsheet.
10. Select the checkbox to set the current field cell value (in the selected Google Sheet) as the start value for your goal target, which is optional, and click Link.
11. In the Unit Type field, select the unit type and enter the start and target values.
Note: If you select the current field value as the start value, the system automatically populates the value in the start value field.
12. Click Publish at the top right.
Your goal in Engagedly is successfully linked with your Google Sheets.
Note: You can also link key results to Google Sheets.
4.1. Edit and unlink goals from Google Sheets
After adding a goal and linking it with Google Sheets, you can edit it and unlink it if required.
Note: If you unlink a goal from Google Sheets, you can relink it to Google Sheets, Salesforce, or Jira.
Navigate to Goals > My Goals > Owned by Me.
- Click the Overflow Menu at the right side of a goal and select Edit.
- Scroll down and in the Linked to field, click the
- Pencil Icon to edit the goal details and change the spreadsheet.
- Unlink Icon to remove Google Sheets from the goal.
Note: If you want to change the spreadsheet after ten minutes, you must grant access to your account again.
5. Sync goals with Google Sheets
After linking a goal with Google Sheets, you can sync it anytime to ensure that the data is consistent and up-to-date. The sync process can occur manually or automatically.
Sync manually
Navigate to Goals > My Goals > Owned by Me.
- Hover over the Google Sheets Icon for a goal integrated with Google Sheets.
- Click Sync to sync the goal manually.
Linked goals sync automatically every four hours to keep progress up-to-date.
Note: You may contact our support team to change the automatic sync duration.
