1. Introduction

Microsoft Teams (MS Teams), part of Microsoft 365, is a widely used collaboration platform that enables teams to communicate, collaborate, and manage work within a shared workspace.

With the Engagedly integration, employees can receive notifications and interact with actionable messages directly within MS Teams. These messages include interactive elements that allow employees to perform actions without leaving the Teams interface.

The integration enhances employee engagement and productivity by streamlining workflows and minimizing the need to switch between applications.

📒Note: This document covers the integration setup for both Tangerine (V2) and Indigo (V3). Screenshots are captured from Indigo (V3), so the user interface may vary slightly in Tangerine.

2. Admin setup

Admins must contact our support team to enable MS Teams for their organization. Once enabled, employees can connect their individual MS Teams accounts.

📒Note: Admin configuration is required before employees can use this integration.

3. Employee setup

After enabling MS Teams, employees can connect their individual MS Teams accounts with Engagedly.

3.1. Connect MS Teams with Engagedly

Prerequisites
  • Access to both MS Teams and Engagedly.
  • MS Teams enabled for your organization.

  1. Log in to Engagedly.

  2. Click your profile picture at the top right and select Account Settings.

📒Note: In Tangerine (V2), click your profile picture at the top right and select Manage Profile.

     3.  Go to the Integrations tab.

     4.  Click CONNECT for "Microsoft Teams".

         5.  In the Microsoft sign-in window, enter your email ID and click Next.

         6.  Enter your password and click Sign in.

    Your MS Teams account is successfully integrated with your Engagedly account.

    To disconnect:

    Follow steps 1 to 3, then click DISCONNECT for ”Microsoft Teams”.

    4. Notifications, events, and actions

    After integration, employees receive MS Teams notifications for specific events in Engagedly and can perform certain actions within MS Teams.

    4.1. Social

    Trigger events in Engagedly

    • Share status, ideas, knowledge, or ask for help

    Notifications in MS Teams

    Dynamic actions:

    • Like a post
    • Remove their like from a post
    • Comment on a post
    • Upvote or downvote an idea
    • Comment on an idea

    Static notifications:

    • The post owner is notified when others like the post, like a comment, or upvote an idea.

    4.2. Goals

    Trigger events in Engagedly

    • Admin, manager, or assigner nudges you
    • Admin nudges a manager about their direct reports' goals
    • You are mentioned in a goal
    • Your goal is aligned
    • Check-in reminders
    • Others are added to your goals discussion

    Dynamic actions:

    • Mark a goal as contributing
    • Add comments or key results to a goal
    • Check-in the goal
    • Manager can add comments about their direct report’s goals

    Static notifications:

    • Update a goal or key result

    4.3. Team Pulse

    Trigger events in Engagedly

    • Team pulse is due for your submission
    • Direct reports submit their responses
    • Manager reviews their direct reports’ responses

    • Submit your responses
    • Manager reviews their direct reports’ responses

    Static notifications:

    • Admin launches a team pulse

    • Others request feedback
    • Anyone is praised

    4.5. Meetings
