Configure SFTP with Engagedly

Introduction

Admins and users with manage integration permission can generate SFTP configuration, enabling the automatic creation of credentials. This establishes a secure and efficient data delivery system, allowing the transmission of employees’ details and reports of the various modules, including Performance, 360 Feedback, Learning, Survey, and Talent Profile reports, via the SFTP server. This process ensures encryption, authentication, and data integrity, allowing authorized users to access, analyze, and report the data effortlessly.

You can generate an Engagedly SFTP configuration or customize your credentials as required.

Engagedly SFTP configuration

Navigate to Settings > Schedule Reports > SFTP Configuration.

  1. In the Engagedly SFTP Configuration field, click Generate SFTP.

SFTP2

The host, port, username, and password are generated. You can regenerate the password if it expires.

Note: For security purposes, the generated password is automatically masked after its creation.

SFTP3

  2.   Click the Copy Icon in the Host, Port, Username, and Password fields to copy them.    3.   Paste them in their respective fields on the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) portal, like FileZilla, and click Quickconnect.

You can use any FTP portal that you use in your organization and paste the credentials.

This automatically creates the SFTP folder, where scheduled reports are downloaded automatically.

Add SSH Key

You can add the SSH key to set up the connection. However, we recommend using the Engagedly server.

Below the Engagedly SFTP Configuration field, click Add SSH Key, enter your SSH Key, and click Save.

Custom SFTP configuration

If you have a server, you can add your credentials to customize the SFTP configuration. However, we recommend using the Engagedly server.

Navigate to Settings > Schedule Reports > SFTP Configuration.

  1. In the Custom SFTP Configuration field, click Add credentials.
  2. Type the name and host, and set the port.
  3. Type the username and password.
  4. In the Upload to field, enter the directory path of the parent folder to access the uploaded file.
  5. Click Save.

After configuring SFTP with Engagedly, you can paste the credentials into any FTP portal. This triggers the automatic creation of a folder corresponding to the module name when the report is generated. Learn more in Schedule reports.
