Create and manage IDP

Employees can create IDPs to take an active role in their professional development, set personalized goals, and identify the skills and training they need to advance their careers. This process empowers employees to take ownership of their growth and align their development plans with the organization’s objectives.

Admins can create IDPs for employees, while managers can create them for their team members.

After creating IDPs, you can manage them.

Manage IDP

After creating IDPs, admins can track and manage employees' development plans, managers can do the same for their team members, and employees can monitor their own plans to ensure alignment with their growth goals.

💡Tip: Employees can manage their IDP, regardless of who creates it.

Click the Overflow Overflow Menu-Nov-20-2023-05-10-31-0841-AM Menu on an IDP for additional actions.

  • Mark as Complete: Update the IDP by marking it as complete.
  • Edit: Modify the IDP.
  • Put on Hold: Temporarily pause progress on an IDP and resume it later.

After putting an IDP on hold, click Resume IDP to continue it.

📒Note: Pausing an IDP disables its milestones, but you can still add new ones.

  • Add to Meeting: Add the IDP to a meeting agenda for discussion.
  • Delete: Remove the IDP and all associated milestones.

📒Note: Deleting an IDP is irreversible.

After marking an IDP as complete, you can reactivate it and add milestones if required. Learn more in Make IDP active.

Nudge employees to create IDP

Admins and managers can encourage employees to create an IDP by nudging them.

In the Development Plans field, click Nudge, type your message, and click Send.

By actively managing IDPs, admins and managers can play a key role in supporting their employees' career development and aligning their growth with organizational goals.
