Create and manage learning path

A learning path is a structured sequence of educational content, courses, or modules that helps individuals learn a subject or skill, starting with the basics and moving on to more advanced topics.

Only admins and learning managers can create a learning path. After creating it, they can manage it if required. They must publish it to assign it to the learners.

The authors can create a learning path from scratch.

Navigate to Learning.

  1. At the top right, click Manage Resources, and click Add.
  2. Select Create learning path from scratch.

In the Basic Information step,

  3.   Type the learning path title.

Note: Marissa AI icon appears only after typing the learning path title.

If required, you can

  • Upload the cover photo for the learning path.
  • Type the learning path description and details.
  • Click Ask Marissa to Generate Description.
  • Add Category, language, level, tags, competencies, and skills.

Note: You can view the competencies and skills that are added to your organization.

Note: You can add co-authors for those who have the learning manager's permission. Learn more in the LXP user guide for Admins.

  4.   Click Continue.

In the Completion Behavior step,

  5.  Enable Randomly or Sequentially as required, allowing learners to complete the courses based on the settings.

  6.   Click Save.

You can add courses to the learning path that are Authored by you and Published By Others.

You can filter the courses based on the following:

  • In library or not in library
  • Competency
  • Language
  • Duration
  • Rating
  • Provider
  • With or without certification

  7.   Click Add Courses, select the courses, and click Save.

Manage learning path

After creating a learning path, you can edit or delete it and add, reorder, or delete courses in a learning path if required.

Navigate to Learning.

  1. Click Manage Resources at the top right.
  2. In the Authored by you tab, select a learning path.
  3. Perform the following as required:
  • At the top right, click the Overflow Overflow Menu-Nov-20-2023-05-10-31-0841-AM Menu and select Edit Learning path or Delete Learning path as required.
  • Click Manage Contents and click Add Courses to add additional courses.

  • Click the Hamburger Hamburger Menu Menu at the top right, drag the courses to reorder them as required, and click Save.
  • Hover over the course and click the Delete Delete Grey Icon to delete the course from the learning path.

Note: You cannot include the quizzes and training sessions in a learning path. However, you can add courses, including quizzes and training sessions, to a learning path.

Publish learning path

After creating a learning path, you have to publish it to make it available to other authors and co-authors if any. While publishing, you can push it to the library to make it available to all employees of the organization.

Navigate to Learning.

Click Manage Resources at the top right, select a learning, and click Publish at the top right.

Note: You must publish the learning path to assign it to the learners.

After publishing a learning path, the Learning path Insights tab will appear beside the Content and Learners tabs.
